The Power Of Colour In Leaflet Distribution
April 8, 2025

Colour. It’s everywhere – on your clothes, in your morning coffee mug, even splashed across the packaging of your favourite snacks. But when it comes to leaflet distribution, colour isn’t just for decoration – it’s a full on marketing weapon! Ready to wield it like a pro? Let’s dive in…
Sure, bright colours and wacky designs are great for grabbing children’s attention (think cartoon explosions or sparkly unicorns). But unless your business involves bouncy castles or children’s parties, you’ll probably want to take a different approach. Solicitors? Accountants? Butchers? Forget the neon dinosaurs!
So, the question you’re asking is, how do you make colour work for you? Well, let’s talk psychology. Colours are sneaky little communications – they can evoke emotions, spark decisions, and totally change how your audience sees your brand. Let’s try it: What colour screams “SALE”? Yep, red! Fiery, urgent and impossible to ignore – red is the colour equivalent of shouting “Act now before it’s too late!” You won’t see the word “SALE” written in tranquil blue – it’s too chill. Blue says “Take your time,” which is exactly what you DON’T want when pushing your products!
Whilst thinking about colours, we’re not sure why Black Friday is black and not Red Friday! Red Friday for all things urgency and quick sales. However, black speaks of sophistication and glamour – perfect for a fancy homeware boutique, not so much for a massive clearance sale.
However, we know that not all businesses are pushing sales. Perhaps you are wanting to focus on building trust and brand awareness. In which case, white is the chosen colour for medical outlets as it shouts clean, pure and trustworthy. Whereas green and brown screams eco- friendly and down to earth. Grey, however, just stay away, it doesn’t scream anything right… It’s neutral…extremely neutral…that’s all.
Here’s a tricky one though – would you go with orange or violet to represent honesty? Orange, with its fun and confident vibe, might charm the socks off a casual audience, but violet brings depth and authenticity. Want to show boldness? You can go for a punchy orange. Need to inspire trust? A richer violet will have your back.
Ultimately, the colours you choose for your leaflet distribution campaigns should reflect the image you want to project and the message you want to deliver. Random colour-splashing might lead to attention grabbing leaflets – but not the good kind! Instead, take a strategic approach and let your colours speak for you.
